Spiroshader™ is a real-time music visualizer for Windows, Linux and macOS. It plays MilkDrop presets, Shadertoy-style shaders and images in one playlist, driven by the audio playing on your computer. That can be a music app, the browser or DJ software. No microphone needed.

Three kinds of visuals, one playlist
- Classic MilkDrop visuals. Supports MilkDrop 1 and 2 presets, including custom shaders, waves, shapes and sprites.
- Modern shader art. Runs Shadertoy-style GPU shaders, including multipass presets. Audio-reactive shaders receive Spiroshader’s real-time spectrum and waveform data.
- Images. Use photos, artwork and HDR images as backdrops, interludes or calmer moments in a playlist.
Mix all three freely. No shader or programming knowledge is required: choose a visual, press play, and let the music drive compatible audio-reactive content.
During Early Access the included library is intentionally small and curated, and we are expanding it during development. Spiroshader can also play compatible presets and pack files you add yourself. Third-party presets are not included, and WiderUp does not review or endorse them: their authors’ licenses apply, and you use them at your own risk.
Built for the screen you actually use
- HDR rendering. On supported HDR setups, glowing highlights reach above ordinary SDR white.
- Tune without rewriting presets. Choose an enhancement level, then keep per-preset glow, vividness, clarity and motion settings without changing the original preset file.
- Choose the render resolution. Rendering resolution is independent of the window size, and each preset can keep its own preferred setting.
More than a screensaver
- Magic mirror. Point a webcam at yourself and use compatible camera-aware presets for liquid waves, kaleidoscopes, feedback and infinity-mirror effects. Chroma key can place a person or object inside the generated scene, and built-in effects are included for parties and streams.
- Your logo in the visuals. Keep a transparent PNG logo on screen across every preset as a watermark, feed it into the preset so the visuals warp and swirl it with the music, or fire it as a live stinger from a hotkey.
- Live sources. Bring cameras and supported shared-video sources into Spiroshader, or publish Spiroshader’s output to another application.
- Your music here, the picture there. Run a second copy on another computer as a follower. Audio, timing, preset and effect changes synchronize over your local network. The follower copy needs its own license and Steam account.
- Built for large preset libraries. Search, tag, preview, rate and filter presets by measured complexity, movement, colors, brightness, flicker and patterns, with per-preset tuning saved between sessions.
